Glass was written, co-produced and directed by Manoj Nelliyattu Shyamalan, better known professionally as M Night Shyamalan. The film is a sequel to Shyamalan’s Unbreakable in 2000 and Split in 2016. Together the films form a series of psychological superhero thrillers known as the Unbreakable series, also known as the Eastrail 177 trilogy.

Who plays in Glass?

Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn, aka The Overseer, a seemingly mild-mannered security guard.

In fact, he possesses superhuman strength, stamina, and invulnerability as well as an extrasensory ability to see the crimes people have committed by touching them.

Samuel L Jackson is back, reprising his role as Elijah Price, aka Mr Glass.

His new nickname for Glass is The Mastermind, and he’s a mass murderer and comic book theorist with type I osteogenesis imperfecta.

Price has superhuman information that was turned over to authorities after Dunn discovered the extent of his crimes.

James McAvoy also returns as Kevin Wendell Crumb aka The Horde of Split.

He is also known as The Collective and is a former Philadelphia Zoo employee with 23 different personalities.

Crumb’s body chemistry changes with each personality resulting in a 24th personality known as “The Beast”.

His personalities include Jade, Orwell, Barry, Patricia, Hedwig, Mary Reynolds, Dennis, Norma, BT, Mr. Pritchard, Jelin and Samuel.

Sarah Paulson joins the cast as Dr. Ellie Staple, a delusions of grandeur psychiatrist who treats patients who are convinced they are superhuman beings.

Spencer Treat Clark plays David’s son Joseph, who has believed in his father’s abilities since he was a child.

Charlayne Woodard plays Elijah’s mother, Mrs. Price, who took great care of her son and always told him he was special no matter what others said.

Other cast members include Adam David Thompson as Daryl and Luke Kirby as Pierce.

Glass received mixed reviews from critics, but die-hard Unbreakable fans will likely always head to theaters to see the trio.

The film was announced on April 25, 2018 at CinemaCon when Shyamalan presented footage from the film.

During the event, Shyamalan said, “The worlds of Unbreakable and Split finally collide in Glass.

“What if these real-life superheroes and villains are kind of locked together?” What could possibly go wrong? “

A glass hits theaters on January 18, 2019.
