Each of us craves fair skin, but it’s definitely not perfect. We either have spots on the face or we have hyperpigmentation which causes patchy skin. Now it’s not like everyone has it, but for the ones I have, I can totally relate to you.
Dark spots are created by an excess of melanin production in certain parts of the skin. It can increase if your skin is exposed to the sun for long hours. So while we’re all at home we can undo everything we’ve been doing over the past few months and with minimal sun exposure we can get a bit closer to our goal – clear glass skin.
Aloe vera is one of the most effective ingredients for combating dark spots. Its natural properties help in depigmentation and in turn achieve clear skin.
How? ‘Or’ What: Simply take an aloe leaf and scrape the gel off with a fork. Once done, take the same fork and whisk it in a bowl. Apply it on your face and leave it on for about 20 minutes. You can use this remedy daily for great results.
Lemon is known to have natural bleaching properties. It is rich in antioxidants which directly target the affected areas and brightens the complexion.
How? ‘Or’ What: Mix a teaspoon of lemon with a teaspoon of honey. Lemon is acidic and can affect the skin, which is why mixing it with a natural moisturizer like honey helps soothe its effects. Apply the mixture to the skin and rinse off in 15 minutes. You will get good results when you apply it daily.
Turmeric is another antioxidant that reverses the effects of melanin on the skin. It also contains curcumin which brightens the complexion.
How? ‘Or’ What: Mix a pinch of turmeric with a spoonful of yogurt. Apply to the affected areas and leave to act for 15 minutes. Once dry, rinse it off with cold water.
