SDCC 2018 ‘Glass’ movie trailer: nothing can prepare you for this

After weeks of capturing fans’ attention with mysterious teasers and posters, writer-director M Night Shyamalan has finally released the first trailer for his upcoming horror thriller, Glass.

Shyamalan unveiled the first gripping Glass trailer starring James McAvoy, Samuel L. Jackson, and Bruce Willis at ongoing San Diego Comic-Con. At first glance, the latest installment in the Unbreakable film series should be a roller coaster ride for viewers.

The trailer opens by showing the three characters from the previous two films in the series. 2016’s Unbreakable and McAvoy’s Jackson and Willis are releasing Split. All three are shown in a psychiatric ward under the care of Dr Ellie Staple (Sarah Paulson), as previously shown on the poster, receiving the treatment because they all believe they are superheroes in a human body. .

In Glass, McAvoy’s character has multiple personalities – 21 to be exact – and will be released as The Beast. Movie star Die Hard Willis plays security guard David Dunn, who has special abilities. While Samuel Jackson portrays the role of Mr. Glass in the film. His real name is Elijah Price, a comic book fan who hides terrible secrets behind his calm eyes.

The film’s synopsis hints that the film will describe how Mr. Glass’s special secrets will affect both David Dunn and Kevin Wendell Crumb aka The Beast.

After Split’s conclusion, Glass discovers that Dunn is pursuing the superhuman figure of Crumb, the Beast, in a series of growing encounters, while Glass’s shadowy presence emerges as an orchestrator who holds vital secrets for both men.

Night Shyamalan had already amazed viewers with films like The Sixth Sense and The Village.

During a panel discussion at San Diego Comic-Con, the award-winning director said audiences can expect world-class performances from all three actors in the upcoming horror film. He also spoke about the time difference between the two films and how two different studios have joined us.

I don’t think it will ever happen again, where two studios had two [intellectual properties] they completely owned, and I said ‘can we do a sequel to both, and you guys share it?’ and they said yes.

Glass is slated for release on January 18, 2019.
